After the thirty minute wait for our face art we decided that it must be time to eat. All the food is to support non-profit organizations, and the parent council from Sam's school(no I am not on it, Yet)serves pizza. After we filled our bellies, we set off, leaving Grandma and Lorelei sitting in the shade. There are many different booths along the way distributing information on the river, its importance, and the many different ways to conserve our resources. We skipped all of that. We went straight to the booth with live animals, where we were able to pet a Gila monster and view several different types of rattlesnakes. The kids even got to hold a fairly large gopher snake.
The Boys and Girls Club had a large area all to itself with an inflatable obstacle course, slide, rock painting(NOT washable paint), and paper necklaces.
Don't worry, Claudia is here to help
For most of the kids(including Grandpa) canoe rides were the highlight of the day. Grandpa and Uncle Dustin both had to paddle the circuit twice because Mom(me) won't go on the canoes. After you've fallen out of one they kind of lose their appeal.

More and more Anna and Sam look alike! I hadn't noticed it before but the last batch of pictures of her and these pictures highlight that they are obviously related!
So fun! wish I could have gone to verde river days. I remember going back when I was in high school and we had a fall break to come visit you during!
